Ina Garten is an acclaimed American cook book writer and Emmy award winning host of Food Networks current oldest show Barefoot Contessa which began in 2002 and has aired 27 seasons through 2020. Ina Garten began her professional career at the White House where she wrote the nuclear energy policy as well as budget papers. Ina initially enjoyed the intellectual rigors of working for the White House, but eventually lost interest. She instead bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty grocery store. The store was very successful for 18 years before she opted to let it go. After that, she started the first book. A number of other books and magazine articles followed. Later, the Food Network television show too started and soon became popular. She also sells a range of products ranging from cooking supplies to storage and equipment. Ina is a cook who has learned by herself who's never been to the cooking school nor employed in a kitchen. Ina's easygoing style of entertaining and her easy cooking style are well known. The most well-known recipes she has created are the lemon chicken skeillet, Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon, the Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts, and Lemon Bars.
