Coleman is from Lancashire. Coleman attended Arnold School in Blackpool where she was head girl and received straight A's on her A-levels. As she discussed her Emmerdale character Coleman expressed her regrets about having not attended a university. Coleman was on Crystal Clear at the Edinburgh Festival as part of a group called In Yer Space, which she performed in during her time at school. She was awarded an award for her performance while the performance was also highly praised. Coleman received the role as Jasmine Thomas while she was performing at drama school. The audition took place in 2005. Coleman has received two nominations for the year 2007. The award was for the best newcomer in the British Soap Awards and Most Popular Newcomer at the National Television Awards. In 2009, she received nominations for two areas: Best Actress and Sexiest Feminine. Coleman received a nomination for Best Actress at the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat announced at a Doctor Who press conference on 21 March that Coleman, who had replaced Karen Gillan as the companion of the Doctor following Arthur Darvill left the series and was to play the role alongside Matt Smith. Moffat picked her to play the role because she worked the most well alongside Smith and she could speak faster than him. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She has been active in the field since 1987. She has participated in numerous film as well as TV shows. Eva has been spending more time in films than on TV. Eva is well-known by her character of the character Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children as well as detective Natalia Boa Vistas in CSI Miami. In the latter, she even received two Daytime Emmy nominations and provided her with the opportunity to explore her creativity in music. Alongside being an actor, Eva is also a philanthropist as well as businesswoman. She was married three times and has a daughter by her second husband.
